Perfect Coral Bay Cottage- Periwinkle

Periwinkle Cottage was a perfect choice for us. It was immaculate- we felt very comfortable being there. We had planned on having our kids spend a few nights with us but that didn’t work out - it was a great place to have them visit for a few hours during the day though, as the pool was a nice size. Periwinkle Cottage has a very nice West Indian flair, which we really enjoyed. The large screened in porch with hammock and dining table was a perfect place to be in the mornings and evenings. While a four wheel drive vehicle is ideal for the driveway, we were able to make do without. There were plenty of animal sounds- and yes, there is a rooster who was consistent with wake up “calls” extremely early in the am- about 3:00am. We just closed the doors to the bedroom and that worked well. The Antares hospitality team covered every imaginable comfort and convenience that we could have asked for. We would definitely trust their expertise and recommendations again for future visits. Thank you Kelsey & Rosanne!

Thank you so much Karen, for taking the time to review. We are glad you enjoyed your time on island at Periwinkle Cottage and that the pool was nice for your family. Closing the doors at night or in the morning is a great way to "hit the snooze button" on the island alarms :) I am glad that worked well for you. Thank you again for letting us be your island hosts. We loved having you as guests and we hope to hear from you again soon!

Just as pictured

Periwinkle Cottage was exactly as pictured. We enjoyed our time there immensely. Beautiful views, lovely breezes, we had an awesome time. Goats, donkeys, iguanas and birds were enjoyable all around. Roosters not so much but we closed the doors and turned on ac when they started and all was well. We would say we would return but we had such a great time we need a bigger place to bring grandkids along. Most fun day included ...the Lime Out floating taco bar at Hanson Bay. Favorite beach day...Maho. And don’t forget to stop at Colombo’s for a smoothie.

Wonderful Island Retreat

This is such a lovely property with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Coral Bay is away from the hustle and bustle of Cruz Bay, which we enjoyed. You definitely need a 4x4. Great beaches close by include Francis Bay and Salt Pond (my fav) and more. Or just relax by the pool, which we did mid-week. Morning swims were lovely. Enjoy the sunrise over Coral Bay every morning from the screened in porch. Unique layout of the home has bedrooms below the main house accessible by outdoor staircase. Leave doors open to enjoy the strong breezes. Being on the hill, the breezes were plentiful and appreciated making the temperature feel 10 degrees cooler. Periwinkle Cottage is a wonderful and welcoming retreat. The folks from Antares Management were superb. Thank you Annette for taking great care of us. There is only one issue - which was minor for us- but you might wish to know. The rooster down the hill crows every morn much too early (usually 2am —one knows not why—and then again at sunrise. You do get used to it!! Roosters crowing, goats bleating and donkeys braying. It’s island life at its best.

Thank you Sandra for your kind words! We are so glad you enjoyed your time on island at Periwinkle Cottage! The location is truly ideal for a peaceful private stay yet close enough to any beach or restaurant! Island life can be a little tough to get used to at first as it is on its own island time.. You do get used to it and even miss it sometimes when not there :) Thanks for letting us be your island hosts. We hope to see you again soon!

First time stay at Periwinkle Cottage...

We thoroughly had the best time during our one week stay on St. John, USVI at the Periwinkle Cottage. Annette and Roseann were outstanding hosts/concierge letting us know all the ins and outs of the cottage as well as the island’s locales. The kids loved the pool and the views of Coral Bay. We had a fantastic week and couldn’t have been happier with the choice of Periwinkle Cottage.

Picture Perfect Cottage in Coral Bay

We could not have asked for a better stay on St. John. Periwinkle Cottage was EXACTLY what we were looking for for this trip! When we arrived onto St. Thomas, we were in immediate contact with our hosts, Wayne and Rosanne. They were so helpful meeting us after getting off the ferry, taking us up to cottage, and showing us around! They were available by way of text and answered every question we had, not only about the property, but about the island itself! (They even brought us out a new propane tank, at the drop of a hat, when ours ran out while cooking dinner) The cottage was immaculate when we arrived! Someone took great pride in making sure it was well stocked, beautifully decorated, and in great working condition! We had everything we needed the entire time we were there! The view of the bay from the pool is amazing! We are so glad we decided to keep our trip booked after the hurricanes hit. Although the island was still in repair (lots of debris, trash being collected, working on lines, and fewer vegetation) we still couldn't have asked for better food, friendlier people on the island, and most of all the amazing beaches! They were still gorgeous, and the water was still crystal blue! The perfect amount of relaxation and adventure this couple on their baby-moon, before twins arrive, wanted!! Thank You!! Marty & Amanda

A gem!

We just returned from our most favorite family vacation to date. Periwinkle Cottage was perfectly suited to our family of four. We loved the indoor outdoor living and the views from every room. It was even more beautiful than we had expected from the pictures and very clean. The ceilings were higher than we thought, and there was such an open and airy feel. We didn't even turn on the A/C due to the breezes and fans that also kept mosquitoes at bay. Having reusable containers and coolers already at the house enabled us to pack lunches for the beach. There were also four beach chairs that came in very handy. We rented snorkel gear from Crabby's near the Coral Bay Dolphin Market which is a very close to the cottage. Periwinkle Cottage is an absolute gem! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family, and we hope to return to it someday.

Goats and chickens and donkeys, oh my!

Stayed here for 12 days in September with 2 daughters. Great location just a few minutes from groceries and dining in Coral Bay and convenient to all the best beaches. East facing slope so we got to enjoy the sun & moon rises. We loved the pool and hot tub. Hung out on the screened porch and enjoyed the hammock. Nice breezes and no need for A/C. The outside grill was nice. Wi-Fi worked great. Books were a plus. Beds were comfy. Drank the tap water with no ill effects :) Privacy was great (except for one unannounced visit for pool maintenance). Kept doors unlocked and felt safe. The last .2 miles to the villa was a bit bumpy, but we got used to that :) Of the 4 places I've stayed on St John this was the best deal.

My husband and I spent a perfect week at Periwinkle in June. House was beautifully appointed with quality dishes, cookware, linens/towels, etc. Pool and hot tub were both spotless and so much fun, and the view is to die for. Screened in porch is huge and perfect for relaxing and eating meals. Close to Love City market for supplies and Skinny Legs for burgers. We chose Coral Bay for the quiet, and were very pleased with our decision. The location of Periwinkle added to that solitude, as the house is situated up a dead-end hill with only the sounds of goats and chickens to listen to. Also a short drive to Salt Pond Bay beach which was our favorite for hanging in the shade and basic snorkeling. Would 100% recommend this perfect spot and look forward to returning asap.

Gorgeous view and relaxing atmosphere!

I stayed here in the beginning of June with my boyfriend and another couple. We loved this rental so much! We were speechless for a while just taking in the view. Sally was awesome and easy to meet up with so she could take us to the house. The pool and hot tub were an awesome thing to come back to after a day on the beach. The driveway up to the cottage is a little rocky, but we managed to do it perfectly fine with little struggle in a AWD Toyota Yaris that we rented. I saw lots of reviews saying a Jeep would be the only way to get up there and got nervous about our rental car but we had no problems! This house was truly a delight to stay in. The upstairs living area was indoor/outdoor and it was amazing at night with the breezes. I would recommend this cottage to anyone! Would even consider using it again if I ever came back with 4 people again. This place does not disappoint!
