Lower level one bedroom unit with stunning views, close to beaches...

Welcome to Banana Sweet in beautiful Coral Bay with its quaint, funky, laid-back shops, restaurants and music scene. This is a surprisingly spacious, newly redecorated, open floor plan apartment for two, overlooking the Carolina Valley and Hurricane Hole. You can’t beat the location which is a short 10 minute drive to the beautiful North Shore beaches.

Come and enjoy the comfortable, partially covered patio with nearly constant tropical breezes while you sit by the banana trees. It is the perfect place to catch a Coral Bay sunrise while enjoying your morning coffee or dining al fresco after a relaxing day at the beach. The roomy apartment has one bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a large dining and living area which faces a wall of windows that open to an expansive view of the Carolina Valley and the historic ruins of the Carolina Estate. This mainly solar powered home is equipped with Tesla Powerwalls which ensure constant power even in the event of an electric outage. The apartment comes outfitted with AC in the bedroom, WiFi, TV with Dish Network, a large outdoor deck with grill, and a washer/dryer for guest use. Beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels are provided so you have everything you need for a day at the beach. If you enjoy hiking, there are many trails to enjoy that are very close by.

This lower level apartment is part of a two unit home lovingly cared for by the owners who live upstairs. They are always available if needed, but are also very respectful of your privacy. There is a large, flat parking area and the apartment entrance is totally private. Due to its location, a vehicle is required.

Sort of retired

I could not have picked a more perfect place for cleanliness, amenities, relaxation, and convenience. Pete and Annette are gracious, unintrusive hosts who live upstairs but you’d never know it. Homemade banana bread, which lasted a whole day for me, and a bottle of wine greeted me. The apartment is right-sized for a single or couple, though not for sleeping separately. A stunning view of Coral Bay and Carolina Estates from the back deck. Unfortunately, I was too early to pick ripe bananas off the tree within arms reach of the deck but there are amazing limes nearby. The apartment has an AC unit above the bed but I only needed it one night, when I had to close the windows when it rained. Otherwise, there is a gorgeous breeze coming up from Coral Bay that goes right through back to front with the windows open. Over the years, I stayed at the old Concordia in the eco tents. I loved them and the ecological benefits they offered and missed them but at a price point that is comparable with solar power and minimal waste, Banana Sweet offered the view with amenities and comfort I’d forgotten I like when traveling. The only downside if you’re new to the island is the road up is rocky and bumpy in many stretches but that’s true of nearly every off road in St. John. Get a Jeep and go slow. . It’s worth the trip.

Banana Sweet Destination Getaway

My wife and I were extremely pleased with the Banana Sweet Villa property during our June 2021 stay, while attending a destination wedding on St. John, USVI. The property is exactly as photographed and described on VRBO. It is clean, quiet comfortable and very well maintained. Annette and Pete (the property owners) were very amiable, professional and great sources of helpful information about the island(s) and travel about them. They clearly take great pride in their property and did everything possible to make sure our stay was enjoyable and care-free. Annette even brought us a half-dozen huge, delicious bananas grown on the property and picked earlier that day. Very nice touch. We've never tasted FRESH bananas before (living in Colorado,) so this was quite a treat. We had only one issue during our stay, a coffee pot that did not want to cooperate the morning of our third day on St. John. It was replaced in 15 minutes and we were up and brewing. We did experience one wide-spread power outage for several hours during the stay, but the updated, modern Tesla Power Wall backup system kept us up and running without even knowing it happened until we drove into town for dinner. Overall, our stay at Banana Sweet was excellent and really proved to be the perfect destination for our trip to the Island. Beautiful views and a great value. Thank you Annette and Pete!

Stunning and well stocked

Wife and I just got done staying here for a week. We are frequent travelers to St. John and always prefer the quieter Coral Bay side. Annette was an amazing hostess and the home was stocked better than any property we have stayed at in the past. The home was also super clean and laid out well for the two of us. If you had an issue (we didn't) I stronlgy believ eit would have been taken care of immediately. First day there it rained and we didn't even notice the island was without power for 2 hours because the home had solar and battery backups. Needless to say, We will definitely be staying at the sweet Banana Sweet again in the future.

Lovely Property

The property is located on the quite Coral Bay side of the island. The property has everything that you need and the owners are very kind and attentive. You will need a vehicle with clearance to get up the rough mountain road that is paved at certain locations. Beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, and cooler) are provided. We really enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend this property. There is a terrific book about the history of the island that is a must read!

A week in paradise

This property exceeded our expectations! Our communication with the owners was excellent, they even checked in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything. The views and amenities are outstanding. We will definitely be staying at the Banana Sweet again.

Paradise on Earth!

I LOVED every second of staying at this place and in Coral Bay. It's so comfortable and high quality. The view on the deck is incredible, the breeze felt great at night! Bananas are growing on the deck :) Every detail in the house is so thought out and high quality. The owners are amazing people! Short driving distance to a few great local restaurants, my favorite was Rhumb Lines. Get a Jeep! I stayed in both Coral bay for 4-5 days and Cruz Bay 4-5 days, i definitely liked my time in Coral Bay more, so much more local, quiet, and peaceful. Driving distance to the best beaches was the same. If I go back again, i only want to stay here!

An unforgettable stay

Banana Sweet is an amazing property that can not be beat for modern amenities With windows that allow for beautiful light and views, it feels like you are in the treetops. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, beautifully decorated and the unit had everything that you could possibly need. The villa felt very spacious for just the two of us, and very private. I would love to stay here again. Besides, where else can you see actual bananas grow on trees right off the deck? AMAZING!! Start packing your bag and book this space now!

Amazing View

Banana Sweet was the perfect quiet place in St John. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Close drive to several beautiful beaches and not far from Cruz Bay. We had a fabulous time. Thanks
